Communication with deaf people can be complex or simple - much depends on the particular circumstance/situation and individuals concerned!
To help provide some insight into communicating with the diverse spectrum of deaf people we offer the following guidance/suggestion/tips. These are based on our experiences as deaf people playing tennis, largely in the hearing tenis community. You are invited to provide comment/feedback/suggestions or ask questions about all of the following - and we are always interested to know of situations and issues you have encountered, the solutions you have tried, and your ideas about what works and what doesn't work!
Note that the internationa deaf tennis section of the ICSD is mid-way through a project to prepare a video about communicating with deaf tennis players, including some useful (international) signs.... stay tuned for this!
