The NSW Deaf Tennis Championships took place Sunday 23rd October 2011 at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush. Under clear blue skies, warm sun and temperatures in the high 20s, 6 men and 6 women battled long and hard for the right to be crowned NSW Deaf Tennis Champions. Some fantastic photos from the ATP Champsions Downunder event in Sydney last weekend. Great to see some of our NSW members out there putting on a show for the crowd. Well done to Josh for managing to wear an interesting device on his head! And that was an impressive guard of honour to welcome Pat Rafter onto the court. Congratulations to all involved.

From November 11-14, Sydney is hosting the Champions Downunder event (http://www.championsdownunder.com.au/). This event brings some of the greatest names from tennis history, including McEnroe, Wilander, Ivanisevic, Rafter and Cash, to Sydney. Deaf tennis has been invited to exhibit on centre court and provide some "between match" entertainment. Any deaf tennis players interested in being involved is invited to contact us asap (email to info@deaftennisaustralia.org).
